The new home’s annex of the Museu de Arte Contemporânea of the University of São Paulo (MAC-USP) was inaugurated in 2013 with a photo exhibition that registered the building’s five-year renovation process: the artist Mauro Restiffe was there during three of those years and took more than 1,500 photos, 12 of which were selected for the exhibition “Obra”, produced by ICCo. The museum became one of the partner institutions of ICCo, whose mission is also to create more and more of these partnerships, seeking a joint effort in the generation of content.
All in black and white, the photographs reveal the stages of the renovation process and adaptation of spaces designed by Oscar Niemeyer, and recover certain solemnity of the building, while also recognizing it as a monument and ruin. Through the works, the visitor had a different perspective of what he saw in the recently inaugurated museum.
