The World Biennial Forum N°2 brought together representatives of more than one hundred institutions from around the world to discuss issues related to the practice of art biennials. Held in parallel to the 31st Bienal de São Paulo in November 2014, at the Ibirapuera Park Auditorium, the Forum had a five-day program that was free and open to the public.

The main theme, “How to Make Biennials in Contemporary Times,” guided the event schedule, conceived by the curatorial team of the 31st Bienal de São Paulo: Charles Esche, Galit Eilat, Nuria Enguita Mayo, Pablo Lafuente, Oren Sagiv, Benjamin Seroussi and Luiza Proença .

The Forum was held in partnership between ICCo, the Dutch Biennial Foundation and the Fundação Bienal de São Paulo, which also produced the book “Making Biennials in Contemporary Times,” which brings together essays on the topics covered at the event.
