2013 ICCo/SP-Arte Award
The ICCo/SP-Arte Award bestows upon two artists represented by galleries participating in SP-Arte – the largest art fair in the Southern Hemisphere – international residency grants at ICCo’s partner organizations, who is responsible for the production, organization and communication of the award, as well as monitoring the artists during their residency.
The first edition of the award selected artists Rodrigo Braga, from Galeria Amparo 60, and Marcia Xavier, represented by Galeria Casa Triângulo from São Paulo. The artists were hosted by Residency Unlimited (RU) in New York, and Esthia in Rome, respectively.
Rodrigo Braga did two public performances of his work during his residency at MoMA PS1 and at the RU headquarters in Brooklyn, New York. At the end of her residency, Marcia Xavier was able to talk about her trajectory in an event at the Brazilian Embassy in Rome.
