Historicity and Contemporary Art

The first ICCo project, “On Historicity and Contemporary Art” was an international seminar held in 2010, in partnership with the Centro Universitário Maria Antonia, which featured lectures and debates between nationally and internationally recognized critics, historians and art theorists, as well as open interviews with artists to discuss the links and lines of continuity between contemporary art and the production of previous generations.

Conceived by Sônia Salzstein and João Bandeira and produced by ICCo, the seminar was included in the publication “Historicidade e Arte Contemporânea – ensaios e conversas,” released in 2012.
