Making Biennials in Contemporary Times
The digital publication designed by ICCo “Making Biennials in Contemporary Times” brings together essays on the topics covered during the World Biennial Forum N°2, held in November 2014 at the Ibirapuera Park Auditorium in São Paulo. The launch event of the book took place in May 2015, during the opening of the 56th Venice Biennale, at the Brazilian Pavilion.
Available only in English, the book includes 16 essays by curators, researchers, art historians, philosophers, as well as national and international journalists involved in the World Biennial Forum No. 2. The event brought together representatives of 135 cultural institutions, from over one hundred countries of every continent to discuss issues related to art biennials. The Forum and the publication were produced in partnership between ICCo, the Biennial Foundation and the Fundação Bienal de São Paulo.
In addition to the digital version, the book will also be available for printing at home or at a print shop, according to each person’s needs.
