Rodrigo Braga presents: “Agricultura da imagem” in Fortaleza

Agricultura da Imagem, by Rodrigo Braga

Centro Dragão do Mar de Arte e Cultura, in Fortaleza.

The concept coined by renowned Canadian artist, Jeff Wall, that divides photographers into two categories: hunters and farmers, served as inspiration for the title of Rodrigo Braga’s exhibition, Agricultura da Imagem [Agriculture of Image]. Conceived by the ICCo – Instituto de Cultura Contemporânea – and curated by Daniel Rangel, the exhibition will be on view from October 29th 2015 to January 24th 2016, at Centro Dragão do Mar de Arte e Cultura at the Museu de Arte Contemporânea do Ceará (MAC-CE).

The traveling exhibition was a hit among the public and critics in its debut at Sesc Belenzinho, São Paulo, having received around 200,000 visitors between September and November 2014.

Rodrigo was born in Manaus (Amazonas, Brazil), when he was two years old he moved to Recife (Pernambuco) and has been living in Rio de Janeiro since 2011. The dislocation between these three states in the last four years, and the experience with the different biomes and cultures of each one, yielded the material for the largest exhibition in his career – with 30 photographs, three videos, and objects found during on-site investigations.
